ESI Pressure Transducers

ESI Pressure Transducer
2 December 2024

An ESI pressure transducer is a device that converts energy from one form to another, and sends signals in volts (V) or millivolts (mV). These signals are directed to any device that would interpret them in a way you can read and understand them for reporting, recording, and monitoring purposes.

Pressure transducers are suitable for use if you have short electrical connections, such as in laboratories or inside an electronics enclosure.

What makes ESI pressure transducers unique is ESI’s proprietary Silicon-on-Sapphire (SOS) technology. SOS involves growing silicon onto the surface of sapphire – which are grown in a lab-controlled environment, therefore eliminating impurities. The combination of these two materials provides a very durable and stable sensor that can measure pressure without hysteresis, or the lag between the input and the output. This means that the data you get from the pressure transducer is highly accurate.

Due to the high insulation and rugged properties of sapphire and silicon, ESI pressure transducers can operate on a wide temperature range, can endure high pressure, and have excellent corrosion resistance.

ESI pressure transducers come in different types:
