“My Momma always said, ‘Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.’"– Forrest Gump

Luckily for us, load cells are not chocolates!

We recently received an enquiry from a customer who bought a wrong load cell from another supplier, and emailed us by mistake, asking for assistance. He cannot set it zero or get a correct span, which he attributed to either technical issues with his controller, or the load cell he purchased was just not compatible with his system.

Mistakes like this are easy to come by due to a lot of factors, including but not limited to:

  • The customer is using an old machine, and the part label is partially or totally unreadable.

  • The Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) ceased production or has closed; therefore, parts are no longer available.

  • The customer does not have the specifics of what they are looking for and does not know the right specifications to ask for.

  • The supplier lacks the technical knowledge to support your requirements.

How Can ADM Help You?

There are a few good reasons why you would benefit from reaching out to us. First, we have humans on the phone, so you will not need to speak with chat bots. Second, we take pride in knowing our stuff! And finally, we will take time to ask you appropriate questions, so we get it right the first time.

Why is this important? Your load cell might not integrate with your existing weighing system if you do not purchase from experts who know what questions to ask.

Load Cell Types

So we can get you the right load cell, we will ask you questions, such as:

  • Mechanical dimensions

  • Force direction

  • Load capacity

  • Cable length

  • Excitation voltage

  • Accuracy

  • Material of construction – stainless steel, tool steel or aluminium
