Linear Position Sensors

POSITAL Draw Wire Sensors Crane Application
25 November 2024

Draw wire sensors, also called cable extension transducers are devices that accurately measure displacement and position. These sensors consist of a flexible wire wound around a spring-loaded spool. When an object moves, it pulls the wire, causing the spool to rotate. This rotation is then converted into an electrical signal, allowing for precise distance measurements.

POSTIAL’s LINARIX linear sensors are available in a variety of configurations including robust extruded metal housings for demanding environments and compact plastic housings that provide high accuracy at a lower cost.

LINARIX sensors support multiple interfaces such as Ethernet, fieldbus protocols, analog, parallel, SSI, and IO-Link. Their reliability and durability make them ideal for applications in medical systems, cranes and materials handling systems.
