Inclinometers
Inclinometers, also called tilt sensors or IMUs (Inertial Measurement Units) measure angles of slope, elevation, or depression relative to gravity. They are highly versatile instruments that deliver accurate angular measurements.
Due to their straightforward integration into applications, they require no mechanical linkages beyond the initial installation. POSITAL offers a diverse range of inclinometers including dynamic, static, compact and heavy duty inclinometers.
Dynamic Inclinometers
When you're dealing with situations that involve sudden movements, shocks, and vibrations, having sensors that respond quickly and provide a clear signal output is crucial. Dynamic inclinometers use two advanced MEMS sensors: a 3D acceleration sensor and 3D gyroscope, which work together to deliver more accurate readings.
Key Features:
- CANopen & J1939 interfaces
- Integrated Accelerometer & Gyroscope
- Filtering of Accelerations, Shocks & Vibrations
- 1 and 2 Axis, Pitch & Roll
Dynamic inclinometers provide a precise measurement signal that can be used in mobile equipment, including cranes, construction machinery, mining equipment, agricultural machines, and various other applications where abrupt movements, shocks, and vibrations may occur.
Static Inclinometers
Static inclinometers are designed for very small moves or vibrations, using an accelerometer to measure Earth's gravity components to calculate tilt angles and slope position. It provides accurate measurement in stable environments and is much easier to install compared to rotary encoders, making it ideal for applications including solar panel positioning and scissor lift tables, and aerial work platforms.
Key Features:
- 1 and 2 Axis, Pitch & Roll
- Measuring range: Up to 360° Single Axis, Up to ±180° Dual Axis
- Analog, CANopen, J1939, SSI, Modbus RTU
- Vertical & Horizontal Mounting
- Teach-In, Preset and Scaling Functions
Compact Inclinometers
The ACS Analog inclinometer is a simple, compact and cost-effective inclination designed for measuring inclination. It is capable of accurately determining absolute position in both single and dual axes. The device is housed in a fibre-reinforced plastic casing and offers multiple connection options.
Key Features:
- IP67 Protection Class
- Optimised Footprint
- Cost Effective
- 0.01° Resolution, ±0.10° Accuracy
Heavy Duty Inclinometers
POSITAL has expanded its range of rotary encoders and inclinometers (tilt sensors) to include additional devices that feature an IP69K environmental protection rating. These sensors are engineered to withstand repeated exposure to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets commonly used in pressure washing systems. Their durability makes them ideal for tough industrial settings where equipment often undergoes rigorous cleaning processes.
Key Features:
- Up to IP69K protection rating
- Easy and fast mounting
- Variety of communication interfaces
