How to Save Weighing Data to a Secure Cloud Platform for Reporting and Analysis

Working in some industries such as supply chain, logistics, transportation, or the agricultural sector will require managing weight data on a regular basis. This data can be used for future process improvement or cost-effective analysis; however, it is often left unused in spreadsheets.

If you are looking for a simple and efficient way to store weighing data to the cloud, LAUMAS has recently partnered with Infor, and now offers this service for measurements taken by their weight transmitters and indicators – LAUMAS TLB4, TLM8, W100 and DESK/WINOX/WTAB L-R and G-2G. 

What are the Benefits of Saving Weight Data to the Cloud? 

Storing weight information through the cloud gives you the opportunity to access it any time for analysis and reporting purposes.  

The data can be viewed via a web browser in the form of lists, graphs, and measurement values, which can be shared with relevant departments or partner companies to rectify procedures, enhance operations, maintain quality/consistency, and monitor production. 

In addition to this, this solution is easy to implement and does not interfere with the existing local IT infrastructure.  

How does It Work? 

Compatible LAUMAS weighing instruments transmit the data to the cloud through an IoT gateway they are connected to via a serial connection. 

This gateway is linked to the network that goes to the cloud via an Ethernet cable and a LAN with internet access, or via a 4G mobile network using a SIM. 

Data can be transmitted and saved either in Print Mode, where the operator sends the data to the cloud using the print command on the instrument, or in Continuous Mode, where data is periodically transmitted to the cloud with a configurable interval and frequency.  

Bespoke Solutions  

As a customer, you have the option to customise various aspects of the cloud platform, if you wish to.  

Aside from the standard features, you can also change the interface, add data control panel, data-processing/generation tools, and user language, on top of the default English and Italian that are already installed.
