Functional Safety Inclinometers Stocked in Australia

SAFETY INCLINOMETERS STOCKED IN AUSTRALIA

DIS Sensors specialises in the manufacture of sensors for mobile moving machinery.

Because such machines create a dangerous work environment, the vehicle’s sensors, automation controller, and program are usually designed by a certified functional safety engineer, who ensures the system meets a specific Safety Integrity Level (SIL) rating.

Life would be a lot easier for functional safety engineers if every component in the system could be supplied with a relevant SIL safety certificate.

However, it is expensive for manufacturers to maintain valid SIL certification, especially if the sales volumes are insufficient to amortise the costs. This is because certification involves rigorous testing, which is costly.

Invariably, the entire system is considered by looking at the many components and how they work together. The probability of failure of any components is calculated to determine the overall Safety Integrity Level of the system.

Functional Safety Inclinometers

ADM carries the DIS QG40N-KIXv-090-2AI-PT functional safety inclinometer in stock.

DIS QG40N-KIXv-090-2AI-PT Dual Output Redundant Inclinometer
DIS QG40N-KIXv-090-2AI-PT Dual Output Redundant Inclinometer

This inclinometer has dual redundant output signals (4-20mA and 20-4mA) and requires a single 10-30Vdc power source.

Should a higher level of safety be required, an alternative with dual power inputs is also available as a special-order item.

Inclinometer with SIL 2 Safety Certification

ADM also keeps the DIS QG76N-SIXv-360-CANS-CFM-UL-2d inclinometers in stock, should you need a sensor with a SIL 2 safety certification.

DIS QG76N-SIXv-360-CANS-CFM-UL-2d CANOpen SIL 2 Safety Inclinometer
DIS QG76N-SIXv-360-CANS-CFM-UL-2d CANOpen SIL 2 Safety Inclinometer

These are ideal for greenfield projects and replacements of other inclinometer brands with a SIL 2 certificate.

The QG76N-SIXv-360-CANS-CFM-UL-2d inclinometer has a rugged stainless-steel enclosure (a plastic variant also available as a special-order item). Its 2 M12 connection ports allow you to “daisy chain” other devices to the CANOpen safety network.

A single-port version is also available for special orders.
