What is a Digital Tachometer?
A digital tachometer is a portable handheld device that is used to gauge the rotational speed of disks or shafts. It shows the speed in revolutions per minute (RPM) on a digital display, as well as provide a more precise measurement as compared to their analogue counterparts.
They work by sensing the movement of markings around the circumference of a disk or shaft and shows errors though inconsistencies.
Digital tachometers are used for spinning or rotating machineries, such as conveyors, windmills, rotary feeders, dryers, elevators, etc. in various automotive, industrial and laboratory settings.
Lutron Digital Tachometer Models
These multifunctional devices can measure ranges from 0.5 to 100,000 RPM with accuracy of 0.05%. Please click through each of the models to see detailed specifications.
Lutron DT-2268 – Digital Tachometer Photo / Contact Type
This is a no-contact handheld device that uses laser light for the photo tachometer feature, hence able to do long-distance measurements. Readings are shown in its large LCD display.
Lutron DT-2236 – Handheld Digital Tachometer Photo / Contact Type
This model is equipped with one chip LSI circuit and crystal time base. It is made with durable, light weight ABS plastic housing, which makes it easy to maintain.
Lutron DT-1236L – Handheld Digital Contact / Photo Laser Tachometer
This model measures speeds ranging from 10 to 99,999 RPM in photo tachometer mode, and measures within range of 0.5 to 19,999 RPM in contact tachometer mode. Lutron DT-1236L also stores the last measurement if needed for later reference.
The Lutron DT-2240D – Digital Tachometer with Proximity Sensor
This model is a panel-mounted digital tachometer with the PX-01 proximity sensor. The main difference of this model is that it needs to be mounted on the control panel to measure speeds of rotating machinery. The Lutron DT-2240D can operate in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 50°C, and comes with 1m cable.
What is a Digital Stroboscope?
A digital stroboscope, sometimes referred to as a digital strobe, is a device that produces quick and recurrent flashes of light to measure speeds of moving objects. In doing so, this device is able to gauge how well a rotating equipment is performing.
Digital stroboscopes are useful in the automotive, textile, printing and industrial industries, to name a few.
Lutron Digital Stroboscope Models
Lutron DT-2279-220V – Next Generation Digital Stroboscope
This model is encased in a metal housing and is suitable for use in challenging environments. It features a large 14mm red LED display, displays speeds from 50 to 35,000 RPM, and designed to work with AC power supply between 220V-230V.
Lutron DT-2249 – Digital Stroboscope
This model is ideal for light industrial applications, suitable for use in laboratories, educational and research facilities.
Lutron Digital Stroboscope and Tachometer Model
Lutron DT-2339A – Digital Stroboscope / Tachometer
This model is a microprocessor circuit design with digital readout and suitable for gauging speeds of moving gears, fans, centrifuges and similar equipment used in industrial environments. The Lutron DT-2339A features a xenon lamp and designed for non-contact RPM measurements.
ADM also supplies associated accessories for your Lutron digital tachometers, such as reflecting tape marks, adapters and surface speed test wheel. If you need more information, or if you are after a model not listed here, please contact our team.
